Our original idea was to find a cardboard box that we could paint black and cut out a hole in. Through this hole we would be able to shine a torch from our iPhone and flash it whenever someone has put their wrist near the box, showing they have been registered. We decided that this idea could be hard to pull off and a box wouldn't look very futuristic and dystopian.
Our next idea was to have a box with an iPhone in again but have the box wrapped in magnetic putty so that it would add to the dystopian feel. We thought this would fit slightly better with our feel but the light may not shine through the putty very well and it could still end up looking quite tacky.
Our final idea that we need to test to make sure it works is using an iPad. We were planning to put the iPad against the wall and then people walk past and scan their wrist it comes up with a heart beat to show that they have been registered. As a group we decided that this idea would fit much better with our dystopian and futuristic genre and shouldn't be too hard to pull off. This idea will also look slick and less tacky. This is a link to the pulse I have found that works with what we want it to look like:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNFzZg6D9Lc
This is fine as far as it goes, Charlotte, but as per my instructions in the lesson on Monday, I'd like to see the technology being trialed, with a video of it in action, not just a YouTube link to the heartbeat. Show me what it will look like on a wall! It needs to be seen in action, all ready for filming. Ms Cope
